Journalist
I have served as a reporter and editor-in-chief for some of the largest media organizations in Greece, with experience across broadcast news, investigative reporting, documentary production, and data journalism. I was the Content Director for VICE Media in Greece, and for the last six years, I worked with a non-profit journalism organization iMEdD, where my roles included organizing the annual International Journalism Forum in Athens.
I am currently a 3rd-year Computer Science student at the Hellenic Open University, focused on algorithms, AI, and software development. I primarily write code in Python 🐍 and I am actively expanding my proficiency in C 🇨 and Java ☕.
Hired in 2018 as a key member of the team mandated to create the ONE Channel news network from scratch. My responsibilities included designing operational workflows, developing components of the programming schedule, and active participation in the strategic planning required for every functional and technical need of the new channel.

Part of the team that created a web application that tracked the virus spread in Greece, providing daily updates and informing hundreds of thousands of people.
As a Project Manager, I worked with the Athens-based Cooperative Sociality to develop a crowd counter tool. This tool helps journalists and the public estimate the attendance of events like protests or rallies, addressing a frequent point of public debate.
A joint investigation with The Manifold. Utilizing machine learning and data analysis, we revealed that the public consultation for the contentious Greek joint custody law was compromised, as over 63% (more than 7,000) of the supporting comments were mass-copied duplicates. This debunked the government's claims of record public consensus.

I was the Data Editor of a major cross-border data investigation conducted with 18 newsrooms across Europe, exposing the staggering shortage of up-to-date, comparable data on femicides and violence against women in the EU.
As part of the iMEdD - MIIR - EDJNet team, we created a new database (2010–2021) to generate the most current map of gender-based violence, highlighting the intensification of this crisis during the pandemic.

Executive Producer. A powerful documentary (VICE Specials) presented by the iconic activist Paola Revenioti. The film chronicles the life of Dimitra in Skala Sykaminia, Lesvos, who lived as a trans person in a closed society, often feeling like a "refugee" in a village that was a symbol of the European migrant crisis.
Dimitra's story resonated deeply with public opinion following her tragic death in 2021.

Presenter and Producer. An extensive investigation into a vast underground network of traffickers exploiting poor mothers in Bulgaria by convincing them to sell their infants to wealthy Greek couples.
Along with my colleague Kostas Koukoumakas, we took a deep dive, covering the case from the courts and slums in Bulgaria to the NGOs fighting to end the practice, highlighting the enormous toll paid by both mothers and children. This investigation was shortlisted for the Investigative Award of the European Press Prize 2017.
