We examined the data from the MyCoast application, through which citizens can check whether the concession conditions are respected on the beaches they visit and submit a related complaint.

The data identifies 9,170 coastal concessions across the country.

Despite the fact that the MyCoast application has a special field where the lease contracts are posted, 43.0% of the records do not have contracts posted. This results in users not knowing the exact terms of the lease before submitting a complaint through the application.

It is estimated that 25% of the concessions in the sample have a lease price of up to €995 per year.

The median lease price for 50% of the concessions in the sample is up to €2,149 per year.

75% of the concessions in the sample have a lease price of up to €4,400 per year.

The rest 25% have a lease price of over €4,400 per year.
